UPDATE
The power lines have now been removed from Hirafu-zaka, and as promised, we are bringing you before and after photos to show you just what an improvement the work has made. We love the new view of Mt. Yotei!

It has been a long time coming, but work is now finally underway to move the powerlines that run along Hirafu-zaka (Niseko Hirafu's main street) underground. The work is part of a major effort to improve the street for the many tourists that visit the resort each year, and comes months after the completion of the heated road and pavement.
We're looking forward to seeing a power line-free Niseko skyline, and will keep our readers updated on the progress! Stay tuned...
