We invite you to join us in celebrating the opening of Makoto Fukawa's Print Exhibition at Ki Gallery this March! From 11 March to 10 April, 2023, you can experience the captivating artworks of this local artist.
Makoto Fukawa was born in 1949 in Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa, but was drawn to Hokkaido's natural beauty and moved to Niseko.
His work focuses on capturing the stunning landscapes of Hokkaido, from its majestic mountains to its rural scenery. Through his art, Fukawa hopes to evoke a sense of nostalgia and familiarity, reminding viewers of their childhood memories of playing in the nearby mountains and farms.
Fukawa creates these works using a printmaking technique called Lithography, which utilises the repulsive action between water, oil and ink. This technique is renowned for its ability to precisely capture the unique texture of crayons and other fine details.
Don't miss this opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Hokkaido through the eyes of Makoto Fukawa!
