Holidayers typically come to Niseko for the skiing, mountain biking, hiking, or sensational food and wine. This year, however, we're adding one more to the list: the chance to design your very own cow (no, you didn't read that wrong!). The 2015 Cow Parade is coming to town, and is now recruiting artists to design a life size fibreglass cow that will be one of many on display outdoors in the Niseko area for the summer (June to October) of 2015. Ki Niseko has sponsored a herd of cows (3 in total), which means your design might end up outside the resort!
Cow Parade is the largest public art event in the world and has been hosted in more than 80 different countries. It is the first time that the event will take place outside Tokyo since it was first introduced in Japan. Already more than 30 cows have been sponsored!
For anyone who thinks they’re up to the task of designing a cow, you can find more information or apply on the official Cow Parade website, or head to the Facebook page. The deadline to submit your design is February 10.
Best of all, Ki Niseko will be offering a special discount on accommodation for all selected artists. Stay tuned for details.
